codeshare check-in question
Hi,
Next week I will be travelling from London Heathrow to Denver via Toronto
My first flight is 'Lufthansa operated by Air Canada'
My second flight is Air Canada
I'm assuming that both being in the star alliance getting my bag checked all the way through probably won't be a problem (I booked as one ticket from expedia) but I was wondering about chekcing in online...
I can access my booking on the lufthansa website - can I check in online there or do I have to go through Air Canada?? And if I can, will I be able to check-in for both flights?
Any help would be REALLY appreciated as this is my first time flying outside europe on my own and my first time with a connection OR a codeshare flight!
Thanks in advance!

You check-in with the operating carrier (in this case AC) when it's a codeshare flight.
You should check-in at the airport ... you will get both BPs at LHR.
AC will put your bags through to DEN.
You will go through US immgration at YYZ (Toronto).

Thanks so much for the speedy reply!
So I won't be able to check-in online beforehand??
Worried that this might be bad in terms of seat allocation....
Although on my expedia reference and when I view my booking on Lufthansa I already seem to have seats allocated - do you think I'll manage to keep these ones?
I just tried to 'manage my bookings' on aircanada.com and it says it can't access it because it was booked by another website.... doesn't seem I'll be able to check-in online there...

Codeshare flights are potentially painful for any number of reasons: advance seat assignments, online check-in, upgrades etc. Sounds like you don't have any status with either LH or AC, or another *A carrier? Then you're down the pecking order in terms of good seat assignments.

You can.
Just call Air Canada and ask them to look up your PNR using names, credit card numbers, flight dates, just tell them whatever they ask.
