Retroactive *A point redemptions

G'day everyone!

Quick question here, last year I flew *A from Perth-LHR return twice (TG and SQ) and then flew IST-EWR-LHR (LH and CO), however I didn't do my research and very foolishly got it all credited to my TG ROP account. Whilst I did reach Silver, I received no points on the IST-EWR-LHR LH&CO legs of my flights due to the booking class.

I now have a whole bunch more *A flights coming up round the states and again to istanbul from Perth on two separate trips and I have signed up with TK due to the 100% mileage earn on the CO, TG and MS flights I have booked.

When I signed up with TK I redeemed the TK flights I took last year which had actually already been credited to my TG account but they did it anyway...so I was wondering what everyone thought about my chances of sending my CO and LH boarding passes that I received no points for over to TK for redemption? I might do it anyway because hey, you never know but I wanted to see if anyone else had any experience and/or luck with doing this?

If I'd done my research right from the start I would've been heading towards TK Elite Plus by now!

Welcome to FT, jozdemir!

Firstly let me start with some word about terminology. With "redemption" we usually mean the usage of miles for flights or similar. What you mean is "crediting" miles to a program.

Usually most programs have some period from where you can still hand in boarding passes even from before you signed up. Usually, this is limited to flights from that airline. But it definitely is worth a try. Also be aware that TK Miles & Smiles allows you to purchase status miles, AFAIK the only *A program where one can do this.

Ahhhh ok that makes sense, no worries mate cheers!

Well I'll see if I can scrounge up my boarding passes and give it a go, just wish I'd done my research a year ago!
