Hi, i have recently booked my first redemption holiday and i will be travelling business for the first time. I am flying:
TG ZRH-BKK BKK-SYD
SQ MEL-SIN
TG SIN-BKK-FRA
Now i usually order a muslim meal for religious reasons. I guess what id like to know is will I have a specially prepared meal to business class standards or will i just be served what i would get in economy?
I do eat fish/veg - if necessary i dont mind not having the special meal so long as this option is available.
Any help much appreciated as im due to fly fairly soon.
Thanks

Often special meals are quite similar in all classes, except for slightly bigger portions, nicer presentation & cutleries, and additional courses, in J & F.
If you eat fish, you may not necessarily need to order a special meal. Even if there isn't a fish course on the regular menu, the TG/SQ crew will try to find something suitable for you from F or Y. That's not 100% guaranteed, but usually it shouldn't be a problem.

Be sure you have your meal request recorded for EACH LEG even if you have to call, especially on CO. Earlier this year I had one return flight 11 hr TATL with no veg meal... I was flying pd coach and they had NOTHING to offer me. even the snack meal had ham in it. It was a long way to go w/o but because I carry cereal bars and nuts I was fine. I did ask for a 'form' from the FA's but they all claimed ignorance and said the only way I could send in a complaint was online (I checked with 2 FA's and 1 GA and they all said same). When sending in the complaint they said I did not register for veggie so no comp except 1000 mile...Interesting because all other legs of that journey were veggie...and my profile is such. But, I've learned on my upcoming CO flights, I will call to confirm for any flight over 5 hrs.

Actually, you could order a special meal for all sectors regardless. If the special meals are not your taste, you could always ask for an ordinary meal from the menu (they usually have spares and knowing TG/SQ, FAs would usually be more than willing to do this).Originally Posted by mmdpkaaa
thanks, will try special for bkk-syd and normal meal for zrh-bkk and see how it goes then can alsways amend for the return leg if necessary...
IME, the Kosher meal in C is a Biz-standard meal. Perhaps not on the level with my fellow pax, but definitely much higher than the Y meal. I can't comment for all carriers, but I can for CO, BA, LX (and I won't include LY in this one). Generally, an airline won't serve a Y meal in C.
