Lounge Access VYR

Pardon me for my ignorance but I don't fly international often so I'm still confused on the lounge access policy for *Gold members.

Based on this routing:

YVR-SFO-IAH-CLT

.......What lounges can I access? I'm pretty sure I can access the Maple Leaf lounge at YVR, but what about SFO and IAH?

Since those connections are in conjunction with an international flight (YVR-SFO) does that mean I can access the Red Carpet Club in SFO and the President's Club in IAH? I really hope so because I have 2.5 hours in SFO.

YVR-SFO isn't considered an international flight for lounge access. Your profile says you're DM Silver (i.e. *S). Is that correct? Do you have US lounge membership? If not, then you're hosed. No lounge access on your trip at all.

Actually I'm *Gold, just forgot to update my profile. I guess it doesn't matter though since you stated YVR-SFO isn't considered international.

Wait a second.....the last time I flew AC I did YEG-YYZ-CLT I was granted access to the Maple Leaf Lounges in both YEG and YYZ. Why wouldn't I be able to access those lounges a *Gold member?

Do yo have to be traveling on AC or just any Star Alliance member. I'm flying UA metal on a CO ticket from YVR-SFO and CO for the SFO-IAH and IAH-CLT legs.

also check out Air Canada's policy:

Maple Leaf Lounge Access

"Star Alliance Gold members
Any Star Alliance member with a Star Alliance Gold logo on their card is entitled to Maple Leaf Lounge access provided the member is travelling on a departing Star Alliance flight, in any class of service. At no additional charge, the Star Alliance member may be accompanied by one guest who is also in possession of a same-day ticket on a qualifying, departing flight."

Sure it is. Even UA allows lounge access for cross-border flights.

The Maple Leaf Lounge always has good soup and great cookies.

Especially the Chicken noodle soup, it is delicious. I wonder if they get it from Tim Hortons, as TH has chicken noodle soup also.
