As Star Gold you will get lounge access if you are departing on a Star-A flight.
Or you can get RCC access if you are an RCC member.
Generally, flying economy, you have access to the RCC (which is closer to the UA gates); or the ANA lounge (closer to ANA/SQ gates)
Each have their advantages.
I like the UA RCC for the views.
The ANA lounge has places in the back with reclining chairs to sleep.
ANA lounge showers has the fancy heated toilet seat; whereas UA RCC showers have the better soap/shampoo.
ANA lounge has a noodle bar as well.
THere are plenty of threads on this topic.

Hands down, one of the ANA lounges. I've only been to the Sat 4 lounge, though, so I can't say which is better - I have another thread trying to figure out if there's a difference between the two.

The only difference between sat.4 and sat.5 NH lounges are sat.4 has no view, and sat.5 has full tarmac view. Everything else exactly the same.

That's strange-when we flew out of NRT a few weeks ago on a UA flight, the
ANA lounge was right by our gate, whereas the United lounge was quite far away. We didn't check out the United lounge, assuming the ANA would be better. We enjoyed the noodle bar, sushi, and sake bar. Oh, and ice cream (if you ask for it) Glad we ate there, cause the food on our flight (Y) was horrible!

What's so strange about it ? You do know UA is one of the big operator in NRT after JL and NH right ? With so many UA flights especially in the afternoon, when the gate 30s filled up, then they don't have a choice have to park in gate 40s, though UA will use gate 30s before gate 40s, as those gates are close to RCC.

I have done this many times NRT-BKK on United and Thai (never on NH)... I personally thought the United lounge is much better. The ANA lounge was nice and I used it a few times flying on Thai as they usually depart closer to the ANA lounge, but if I had my choice I go UAL everytime.

Both are nice, but I'm leaning towards the RCC
Believe it or not, the RCC at NRT is one of the nicest lounges anywhere. Showers, quite, spacious, nice wood decor, lots of snackies, cool automated beer-pouring machine. It's the bomb diggity, yo!

Do you mean quiet? If so I'll disagree with this. The RCC, while definitely one of the nicest, gets very crowded and noisy. Snacks are very weak. Both ANA lounges also have the beer machine.
I'll take ANA near the 50's gates each and every time. Sake and soju, noodles, and always better finger foods. The only reason I ever go into the RCC is if in need of help on an itin or for the shower.

Lots of snackies ? How is the snackies from NRT RCC compare to those in HKG RCC then ?
