I want to book mileage seats for my wife and me LAX-BKK for a little vacation. We got non-stop on TG on the way back, but our options for the way there are either LAX-NRT-BKK on UA, or LAX-ICN-BKK on OZ and then connecting to TG.
Any thoughts on our better outbound option? Going through ICN is a bit of a longer trip but if the product is much nicer we'd be happy to go that route. How is the TG business class lounge at ICN? How are seats/food on OZ/TG compared with UA?
Thanks for the tips....can't wait for our trip.

The service will be great on OZ, likely very good on TG and sporadic at best on UA.
If UA is operating 747s on both routes they will likely have the better seats.

UA has fully flat seats in C while OZ only has fully flat seat in some flights ex LAX. So ideally you pick one of them.
Otherwise OZ has angled flat seat but service wise OZ is most probably the best option of any airline at the moment.
Another nice option is LAX-LHR-BKK with LAX-LHR on NZ. Much longer but very nice.

If OP was to book UA on the 777 they will be greatly disappointed.
