Should I change Programs? SA-Gold

Looking for an opinion -
I just achieved GOLD status with US Air, which makes me SA Gold. BUT - i'm flying almost only UNITED now, which has few benefits to SA Gold members. So the question is -
Do I stay with US Air and try for Chairman/100k Status? or
Do I start booking miles to try to get to 25/50K status on United, which will give me upgrades, etc. on the airline i'm flying?

Thoughts? - (Thanks in advance for some sage advice!)

Welcome to FT, Overtime!

If you're not flying US, becoming Chairman will not really be a benefit. Gaining status on UA sounds like a better option for you. Defintely shoot for 1P (Premier Executive) at 50K so you can get the 100% mileage bonus and other perks until you can commit a complete year to achieving 1K.
