Switching flights
Apologies in advance if this is an amateur question but I'm still relatively new to the travel game.
I purchased a UA/All Nippon flight going from DFW-SFO-NRT-HKG-NRT-SFO-DFW from Orbitz. However, recently UA changed the SFO-DFW flight schedule such that I can no longer make my connection after coming in from NRT. Because of this, I'm now on a SFO-DEN-DFW flight that gets me back home at a decently later time.
I called Orbitz, UA, and All Nippon to see if anything can be done about this. There are no more Star Alliance direct flights between SFO and DFW, however there are more than enough flights with other carriers.
- Is there any room for negotiating things (since UA's flight schedule change basically goofed things up) so that I can get on an AA flight for example back home from SFO to DFW?
- If so, who is the right party to speak with here (Orbitz, UA, All Nippon)?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
