08 Dec holiday in Spain--Barcelona/Catalonia

A few years ago we were in Madrid on this holiday--and it was insanely busy. Lines everywhere, traffic was a mess, just crazy.
We went to Toledo and things were rather quiet there. Then to Barcelona and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Is this a major holiday in Barcelona and Catalonia in general? What about Andorra; it is listed as a holiday there.
I'm thinking of being in Girona around this time and just want to prepare.
It doesn't look like this day is a holiday in France.

Dec 8 is on a Saturday, so I'm not sure if people take off the day before?

Note that both December 6th and 8th are holidays in Spain. Most people will take the 7th off .

Yes, this is the "puente" of December which means almost all professionals will take the 7th as a free day. Nonetheless it won't be busy in Girona at this time of year, so don't worry about it.
Stay at the AC Belavista hotel in Girona. Wonderful views.
