Website Error codes
Anyone else getting 404 error codes when trying to book awards
off your coupon page?
This has been occuring for several days now
Clicking "southwest Seat Finder"
and "Book your Ticketless Award"
both take you to error pages.
Looking to use an Award? Use Southwest Seat Finder to see dates with availability.
Or simply Book your Ticketless Award online at southwest.com.

southwest.com has had more than its fair share of issues lately, but I do not recall anyone reporting encountering 404 errors when trying to book award travel. I just tried to replicate your experience and cannot. Are you getting actual southwest.com error pages that you are generically terming "404 error codes," or are you getting actual 404 errors?

Yes. Clicking "Use Southwest Seat Finder" or "Book Your Ticketless Award" from the Awards page results in the following:
This has been happening since sometime last week.

SeatFinder seems to be working ok from Account Snapshot, but not from the Awards screen - so there is another entry point as a workaround until we can find the issue and get it resolved.
Will let you know,

Interesting that for some reason the links on the awards page are different than they used to be. The SeatFinder link formerly shown on that page, currently still shown on the snapshot page, and which still works is:
Similarly, the direct link to booking an award on the awards page now has the error-inducing RR. Old, still working link:
The account snapshot page has never had a direct link to the award booking page, only the SeatFinder page, which always struck me as strange (and cumbersome for the user).
(SWAV's post appeared as I was typing, collecting links, formatting, previewing...)
Edit: (Technicality, not important at all.) Can't run FF3 on the computer I was using earlier; used it on a different computer to help me make a better guess as to whether the old direct award booking link was to builditinerary or builditinerary2.
https://www.southwest.com/cgi-bin/lowFareFinderEntry?finder=SeatFinder
The link on the awards page has been changed tohttps://www.southwest.com/cgi-bin/lowFareFinderEntryRR?finder=SeatFinder&ref=RR_awards
Removing the bolded part of the URL allows it to work. The italicized part might be new; it is unnecessary, but not error-producing.Similarly, the direct link to booking an award on the awards page now has the error-inducing RR. Old, still working link:
http://www.southwest.com/cgi-bin/buildItinerary?ss=0&type=RapidRewards&ref=RR_award s
New error-producing link:https://www.southwest.com/cgi-bin/buildItineraryRR?ss=0&type=RapidRewards&ref=RR_awards
The bolded part in the bad link that was added to the old good link is again what is causing the link to fail. The account snapshot page has never had a direct link to the award booking page, only the SeatFinder page, which always struck me as strange (and cumbersome for the user).

The links on the award page are still incorrect. SWAVictor, I understand that the HTML for that page is generated by a cgi program and changing the program requires some time...but wouldn't a quick band aid be to create sym links so the customer ends up at the correct place, instead of seeing the 404 error?
