I wasn't going the legal route, more the "it's never happened to me, therefore it never happens to anyone" route. Maybe I should have gone with:

I've never had COVID, therefore no one ever gets COVID?

Sure, anything is possible, but that doesn't mean we have to ignore all available rules and data points. If you are going to do that, why even ask the question here?

Saying it's never happened to you is a good data point

Saying it won't happen to someone else and they don't need to worry about it, only because it hasn't happened to you, is a bad data point

Knowing TSA has made catching child- Trafficking and custody compliance a priority, I would be worried. TSA can easily put you aside and call the help of police without a proper documentation. I would recommend getting a letter from parent, signed in front of notary public, hand-carried before traveling.
