Delay posting credit card points to RR account?

My SW credit card closing date is the 18th of the month. Normally the credit card points post to my rapid rewards account on the 19th or 20th. Very rarely on the 21st. Today is the 25th and the points still have not posted yet. Is anyone else experiencing a delay in the posting of their credit card points?

Yes. Mine always post on the 19th and I still don't have them either. I called Chase, they said it's a delay on SWA's end. I chatted with SWA and they blamed Chase. Chase also told me it's a known delay at SWA and it "should" be resolved this week.

I was just wondering the same thing. My billing cycle closed on the 20th. I received RR Credit Card Tier Qualifying Points on the 21st, but no Rapid Rewards Credit Card Points (which usually post on the 21st).

Same! I called both and no one knows, typically posted by the 18th. Glad it's not just me!

If this 7 day (and counting!) delay happens again in late December, some people might miss out on companion pass for 2024 if they need December points to reach their goal.

The points I’m waiting on will trigger my companion pass for the rest of the year and next. My husband and I are flying this weekend and had to pay for one flight that we shouldn’t have had to pay for if we had that companion pass. Needless to say, I’m not happy.

I have flights booked for Oct 8th and my statement closes on Oct 4 and this statement will give me enough points for the companion pass. I am going to see if I can change my statement close date to a few days earlier and prepay some bills.

I chatted with someone at SWA via FB Messenger today. Was basically told, "sorry, but those points can take up to 30 days to post. Just keep watching your account".

Mine finally posted today as well 8 days late. If this exact scenario plays out in December, anyone with a credit card closing date of 12/23 or later will get screwed and their Nov 24 to Dec 23 charges will show up for 2024.

Actually it could be even a closing date of 12/22 or 2/21 since the Christmas holiday probably needs to be considered.

I wonder if SWAVictor can weigh in regarding whether this event was highly unusual and extremely unlikely to happen again OR should we plan for this kind of event in the future?

My points posted today as well.

(The date was back dated to the closing date of the statement. )

I called today to move my statement date earlier. I have a flight booked for Oct 8 and moved my statement close date from Oct 6 to Oct 1 and hoping the points post by Oct 7 so I can use my companion pass.

Hello -

The situation that caused this delay is highly unusual, but can happen from time to time. In your example of December postings, there charges might show up in January, but they are backdated to 2023 qualifications and would not count towards 2024 if they post in January. This is because the posting from Chase comes in with the 2023 date based on your closing date.

Hope that helps!
