They're listed at Sam's Club for $400 but they're sold out I guess: https://www.samsclub.com/p/southwest...d/prod26712432

Basically a 15% discount.

Tempting but I prefer to buy airline tix with CSR due to the free travel insurance.

Now for 20-25% I might bite.

It seems if you play the SW game correctly you always have free travel insurance.

I don’t think so. WN doesn’t pay for weather delays,
cancelations or medical evacuations. The airfare is the least of my concerns

Do they always offer these for $450 so this is really only an extra $20 off or do they only have them for specific periods? So after the sale, can you get $50 off?

Correct. From costco.com: "$429.99 After $20 OFF Southwest Airlines $500 eGift Card"

Notice that for this Black Friday sale the limit is five per member, rather than the usual two per member.

Can the gift cards be used by multiple people? Or does the recipient have to register it and use exclusively? Example, can I buy the gift card and apply $200 to person x’s flight and $300 to person Y’s flight? Like for two kids.

It’s unrestricted and very much like cash except that you only spend it on tickets. Not on early bird or boarding upgrades as far as I know.

Did Costco think about further reducing the price but not go through with it? The screenshot below is the text preview of an email I got this morning. When I open the email fully, it still shows the $430 price, as does Costco.com. When I view the text-based original message in Gmail, I also see the $399.99. Either they planned a better sale and decided not to do it, or forgot to adjust the price.

nsx and Boraxo like this.

$399.99 would have matched Sam's Club on 11/23 but Sam's went out of stock within a few hours of release.

If I pay for $300 ticket with (for example) $200 GC and $100 CSR do I get the CSR travel insurance and luggage benefits?

That would be a win-win

Well, I bought one last night for $429, and I haven't received an email yet with code. Ugh. Its been 24 hours. On the Costco site it says sending out the codes will be delayed due to overwhelming sales.
In the meantime, the tickets I wanted went up in price so there is that.
It still gives me the opportunity to cancel the purchase.

My niece just told me that she wanted a WN gift card (of course she couldn't have told me that a few weeks ago for all the sales ) for Christmas. I want to give her a $200 card so that means I can't take advantage of the Costco $500 deal.
I have a $50 LUV voucher....is that transferable to her or can it be used to buy her a GC?
If I buy a GC to send her via their website do I get Rapid Rewards points?
Thanks
