Not a bad guess, but co-terminals MHT & PVD are 84 GC miles apart. The triangular relationship with BOS does complicate the picture, but MHT and PVD were probably co-terminals before BOS was added to the system. And then what about PVD & BDL, at 67 GC miles apart (seemingly not co-terminals at this time)? Perhaps before BOS the co-terminal situation was MHT-BDL-PVD? Our old friend SWAVictor might know the history.

Are there different rules for the systemwide travel accommodation policies vs. what they'll do if your specific flight has been canceled?

If the last flight of the day to AUS is canceled and there are seats available to SAT, I'd be highly annoyed if WN didn't let me have one of those seats assuming I was willing to take it.

In actual irrops, they seem able to do absolutely anything you ask. Willing could be another story, but I cannot imagine them not being willing to accommodate the situation you describe. I don't know exactly where you'd end up on a standby list, but I suspect you'd be ahead of folks asking for an A-list change, but perhaps behind folks who were pushed off an earlier canceled SAT flight.

Maybe this thread should be a wiki of all the places that qualify based on the free changes. I know CVG and CMH qualify.

I had a flight to TPA that was recently changed and was pleasantly surprised to find SRQ proactively offered as a rebooking option on the website.

PBI, MIA, and FLL are co-terminals for online rebooking after schedule changes.

LAX, LGB, SNA, BUR, ONT, and SBA are also co-terninals for online rebooking.

That's an interesting one. PIT and CLE are roughly the same distance apart as CVG and CMH but they don't qualify.

SWAVictor Will you clarify whether BDL is a co-terminal with BOS, PVD, and MHT? I've had one representative tell me it is and two tell me it isn't.

(I was also told that PVD's only co-terminal is MHT, which doesn't make much sense.)

BUF-ROC are close enough to be a pair.

MDW-ORD would be now

BDL is not listed as a co-terminal.
