It depends on how competitive WN is going to be on the Hawaii routes. Right now, with limited WN flights, I am finding WN to be several hundred dollars more with a connection vs. HA's non-stops out of PHX to HNL. If WN starts nonstop PHX to HNL flighs in the future and offer competitive fares, I might try their service, but for now I'm sticking with HA or AA.

Let me save others a rambling, boring read:
Free meals to all, AVOD at every seat on widebodies only, extra legroom seats for purchase in coach, domestic F cabins in the new A321s, lie flat seats up front on the widebodies.

Ovisously the artickal was written by HA's PR departmnet. HA charges for bags in Y (even Extra Comfort Y). The regular Y pitch is less than WN at 31:. The AVOd is great, but if you want to watch a movie or current tv, you must pay extra for that. The only advantage of HA in Y is the "Hawaiian style" service and light meals.

I love how the articles say "Southwest, with their rock bottom fares and no-frill service" It amazes me that people still think of WN this way. Give credit to Southwest for great marketing.
As the article later points out so well, their fares really aren't that good. They can be cheaper at times, but often they are more expensive. And with the recent race to the bottom for all air carriers, their service is in line with most carriers.

Southwest's FF program is moving rapidly to the top in customer value, simply by standing still while all the others devalue continually.

Although, while I suspect this year's RR devaluation is currently on hold because of the operational mess, it will see the light of day eventually, when things settle back down.
