I surely did not think the "duck/duct tape" reference as being stupid at all.
I did enjoy the video though. I have used what appears to be similar stuff in some HVAC situations - but apparently not quite the same.
What I did learn was how some languages pronounce "aluminum". At 38 seconds into the video, he says it. I had to replay it a few times to insure he was saying what I thought he was.
As to passengers that are concerned. Here is the answer I give to anyone that has safety concerns on a paricular flight - weather, equipment, etc.
"the person that makes the decision to fly is also flying on this plane. If he thought it was life threatening, he would get off."
