I assume the OP was joking (and that the point is moot anyway), but just in case anyone reading this is actually considering the idea: Be aware that when checking in at the gate to get preboarding and seat reservation documents, the gate agent will visually review whether or not you qualify as a COS. If you do not, they will cancel the second seat.

Thanks @ursine1 - I guess there's two lessons to be taken away from this thread.
I should have asked FT first, but I didn't want to lose the cheap seats. It all worked out at least.
