ABQ-MCI fares

Need to fly ABQ-MCI one way in June and the current lowest fares on my date of travel are around $225. Seems a bit steep, but then again, I almost never fly Southwest. For those who fly that route, is that the normal lowest fare?

The low fare calendar - what used to be known as Southwest Shortcut - shows fares as low as $132 Feb - May. They haven't loaded cheapest fares for June yet.

I wouldn't expect fares in June to necessarily go as low as fares in Feb-May though. To be clear, I am not saying the fares in June won't go lower than now though.

The "Southwest Effect" also works in reverse. Nobody else has non-stops. Frontier's ABQ-DEN-MCI June one-ways are $2 cheaper.

I normally just pull up the city pair and look at rates on and around the time we are flying. Often does not matter if it is a good fare or not - if we are flying on xxx date, then we go.

Now that we have the companion pass and miles, we are looking to do much more travel this year on WN. Thanks for posting the "shortcut". By the way, this is also a good tool - especially if you want to find non-stop destinations > https://www.southwest.com/flight/rou...clk=SITESEARCH

Why would anyone make a connection and fly F9 to save* $2?

*Most likely, you would end up spending more on F9 than WN.
