My experience with WN Wi-Fi has improved from unusable to just bad. As an A+, it's free but I'd be upset if I paid.

After using Lufthansa wi-fi from JFK-DXB, it lets me know how good airline wi-fi can be.

Just boarded flight 1347 SJC-AUS. Received email it would have WiFi but it does not. I would rather not receive email in future. Had I known, I would have downloaded some podcasts for this 3 hour flight.

It worked OK MDW-LAS, with one not-so-small caveat. You could buy the session as soon as we cleared 10,000 feet, but it was only about an hour later that the free connection for A+ worked.

I'm sensing that there may only be so many ports. Recent flight from EWR-PHX I wasn't able to get on for several hours - then it starts working...and I notice some of those around me were no longer online.

Read the article. Their criteria for "best" Wi-Fi seems to be:
% of planes equipped with WiFi
ground-based or satellite
cost

Didn't measure speed, reliability, or customer satisfaction anywhere, all of which are areas where WN's wi-fi is sorely, sorely lacking.
