Evolve consensus yet?

I know WN's primary motivation is adding those six paying seats, but how truthful is that the new thinner seats make up for the loss of an inch between them?

Subject heavily covered in another thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/south...knee-room.html

Old seats - Knees don't touch seat in front and room for H2O bottle in seat pocket.

Evolve- Knees touch seat in front, H2O bottle has to be tucked in the corner of my seat.

I'm in the exit row if at all possible.

'nuf said.

Old seats:
I can lean forward to get my laptop from under seat.
I can extend the tray table all the way toward me.
I can fit my jacket on top of my laptop under the seat.

Evolve:
I can't get my laptop out without leaning over into the other person's space.
Tray table hits my abdomen if I pull it back.
Laptop barely fits under the seat.
Seat does not feel as comfortable.

One positive is that recliners don't feel quite as in your face due to the reduced recline.

Overall, I think I'm neutral.

I like the look of the cabin with the evolve interior. Don't like the seats on the 73Gs.

On the -800s, I think they're fine legroom wise.

Personally not a fan. Not comfortable. It's new and shiny. Americans like shiny.

Do not like at all, ruins my hips and knees. Tolerate on the -800s. Have started at least considering booking -700 Devolve flights away from WN to avoid Devolve for more than 90 minutes on a WGA fare.

The exit row in an Evolve retrofitted plane is significantly larger than a non-exit row in the same plane. But much, much smaller than an exit row in a non-Evolve plane.

Unfortunately, the LUV seat (2-seats only; row 11?) in an Evolve plane is at least as tight as any other row, if not tighter.

I can live with Devolve, but get a bit happy when I board a plane with the old seating.

It's the difference between Buick seats and Corolla seats.

Today I flew a 737-800 on UAL from PDX to SFO instead of my usual WN flight from PDX to OAK. REALLY made me appreciate WN - even Evolve. Unless you are in Economy Plus, the coach seats are AWFUL. More than anything, I appreciate Evolve's limited seat recline - that was a huge improvement. But the seat back pockets are just a pain in the back side and don't seem to serve any purpose that is worth the pain.
