I thought the battle cry ad was tacky but now I see this-
http://aviationblog.dallasnews.com/a...r-refaeli.html
Is WN becoming hooters air?
Again, tacky. Grow up WN.

Seems adult enough to me.

It was in revenue service for one month -- a month shorter than planned.

OK, we got your point, it was a year ago. Thank you for that informaion. Good job! It was presented resently on another board.
No one is expressing disgust and outrage, (just a little overstated beckles?). Just lets be a little more classy and professional Southwest.

Actually, AirTran's response commercial is actually pretty hilarious. Funnier than the original WN one.
One on hand, I love seeing the airlines openly go at each other in public...
But both AirTran and WN are pretty much being class-less by making their attacks so obvious. How about you talk more about what you can provide vs. what the others can't?

The fact that the Southwest advertisement uses an Airtran plane with its logos covered up as a prop is not an "attack" on Airtran, it is a commentary against a policy many airlines, including Airtran have. You could substitute a plane from any number of airlines with similar policies and the message of the commercial would be the same.
I would add that it took me a few times seeing the commercial to realize it was an Airtran plane, the first few times I saw it I thought it was a Delta MD-88 or MD-90, I really don't think the average airline customer knows or even cares what the other plane is in the commercial, it really doesn't change the meaning of the commercial anyway.
Airtran's ad on the other hand is an 'attack' not just against Southwest specifically, but actually on its passengers.
I've already said I thought the Airtran ad was funny, but if you find Southwest's ad 'class-less' or 'immature' (which I personally don't), I don't possibly see how one could not find the Airtran one, which relies on sterotyping Southwest employees and passengers, even more immature and class-less.

Loved it. Downloaded it to my video iPod for future in-flight entertainment on a Southwest flight. Enough said.
There was a another video that went with this. A "behind the scenes" video. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijfPgdRLKxE
The behind the scenes one was interesting but didn't save that one.

I haven't seen the airtran ad-actually i never see airtran ads.
I do like this ad, and the new one i saw today where the bags get to go backstage and have their picture taken...
(look, i am VERY easily amused...so WN's advertising peeps....it's working for me!)

I like the baggage cart signs in the making of video, one reads "These Bags Flew Free" and the other reads "I Carry Free Bags". Not sure if those were for a commercial (maybe a different commercial they were filming) or not.
