out of 9 friends rapid reward links only the one who is both a-lister and has never had a choice card got the link with the giftcard logo in the email & the giftcard offer clearly on the choice link. there is an APPID # specific to the person's name/email in the link so it is targeted, as others have said. He applied earlier today, now when we reclick his email link it says you have already applied
note to all FTers: check junkmail/spam filters if you don't find your Feb 10 rapid report email.

Would of totally missed this if it wasn't for FT.
I'm not sure what targeted me to get this offer ... not a regular traveler (on WN) - not a-list or CP, but I never had a Chase Southwest Card.
I also got the 32 credit for signing up offer in the mail --- so which do you all think is better 32 credits or 16 credits + $500 in giftcards (with $5000 / 3 months)?

Thanks for the heads up. I don't even read the RR email (I just signed up for the bonus 2 credits) and would not have known about it if I didn't read the post here. So some people got a Rapid Rewards email that does NOT include the offer? Ahh, the feeling special of being targeted!

Just a reminder: WN Visa's balance transfer terms, er, stink. There's a 3% BT fee - to get 8 credits you have to transfer $9600, so your fee will be $288 - this is enough to flat-out buy a RT ticket to many city pairs WN services. Of course, the 8 credits you'll earn is only enough for half a RT.
The interest rate for said transfer will be 13.24%, which ain't great - many credit cards offer 5 and 6% rates on balance transfers.
Thought I'd mention this for folks who are new to WN Visa and are doing math with an eye toward racking up more RR via balance transfers.
