Can you move between terminals at MSY without exiting and re-entering security?

That's what I thought.
Has anyone had any experience with getting a security pass to access the Delta Crown Room on Concourse D when flying out of a different Concourse? Delta definitely allows this, but at some stations the ticket counter agents are very resistant.
