Anyone Watched a Space Shuttle Launch Lately???

Heard from the news that the space shuttle launch was delayed yet again and the next launch date is likely to be on 2 Jan 2008... I should be on the east coast of FLA at about that time... Watched the launch of Discovery in 2001 at dawn... And I'm very keen to watch the launch again and hopefully in daylight...

Have anyone watched a shuttle launch from KSC's compound lately??? Or where would be a good place to watch the launch from a distance???

I watched the launch of the Atlantis last June from the KSC Visitor's Center complex. The only disadvantage of seeing the launch from that location is that you do not see the shuttle leave the pad, but you still feel the launch, even though you are over 8 miles from the pad.

With less than 15 scheduled launches of the shuttles left, I recommend trying to catch a launch at the Cape if at all possible.

I've done it along the river in Titusville. It was a good viewpoint.

Thank you ExitRowOrElse and tfmpa...

Unfortunately, NASA is pushing the launch date back to 10 Jan 2008 now... That means there is only one thing that is lifting off - my chance of seeing a launch... It is going up up, and up in the air...
