Stranded in Boone, NC
I'm in Boone, NC. Need to get up to Virginia (Roanoke). There is no greyhound station in Boone. I'm stranded. I don't have a driver's liscense. What can I do?

Hitchike.
Hire a taxi.
Or better yet - Go to Appalachian State, find a student with a car (15k students there) and offer gas money for the 180+ mile ride to ROA.
Luck!

I would try train/bus combo. See if there is an Amtrak close by or if you could take a take to a train station.

I don't think there's an Amtrak anywhere near Roanoke or Boone. Try getting a taxi (or a ride from a student) to Bristol, TN (about 60 miles) and you can take Greyhound from there to Roanoke.

Definitely, head for the University. There should be a rideboard in the Student Center.

I'm curious what the OP did and whether it worked out.
