Brutal security at MCO
Mrs SKO and I waded through a 50 min security line on the Delta/60-129 side of the "B" terminal on Sunday morning (10am).
Not sure if this was due to "Orange" alert level, or if this was just the normal Sunday rush. But the line stretched almost halfway to the 1-59 side.

Ouch...... I've gone through MCO 4 times since 911 and can only report good experiences. My last time in Oct was probably the easiest.
I've always been really impressed on how MCO was run. It can't be easy running a kiddie airport
.
Maybe it is because we're orange....

We normally fly United on the 1-59 side and have never had more than a 10 min wait. We went Delta this time, and whew, what a mess.
I was going to check out the 1-59 side to see if it was as bad, but did not get the chance.

If there's a mess to be had at MCO, it will be at the Delta counter. The rest of the airport can be running smoothly, and the Delta check in lines are horrendous - Always.
It sounds like it's now spread to the Security area too
. I haven't flown on Delta to MCO in several years, so I can't say that I've experienced it, but I recall taking a stroll over that way and the lines were impossible.
Sorry that you got stuck in it.

I returned yesterday ( posted a trip report if anyone is interested). Spring Break has started and the lines were very long for gates 1 through 59. They moved smoothly, however and everyone was pleasant. It took about 30 minutes and we were not counting on this. Boarding had already started by the time we got to the gate and we just walked on to the plane.

Hi,
I flew out of MCO on Friday pm. After checking in at VS at 2pm I went up to McCoys Bar and Grill in the Hyatt for lunch and had a window seat where I could see the security line which appeared to be growing all the time so I did not linger too much.
The line was going back and forth several times but only took less than 15mins to clear which I thought was quite good.
While I was in the Delta Crown Room lounge( an invitation was given to me at VS check in as I have the VS Gold card ( very nicely decorated but very little in the way of snacks compared to VS lounges) I overhead a man on a pohne saying it was like a zoo ( this was around 4:30pm with separate lines to check in , put bags through the xray machine and then clear security and that it took him an hour) so the queues might have been building up after 2-3pm.
On the other hand clearing immigration , collecting backs and celaring security on the previous Saturday was a breeze and done in less than 15mins after leaving the VS flight
Regards
