Connecting in MIA

Hi guys looking for some advice. I’m looking at CUN-DUB flights and one of the options I’m being given is via MIA with CUN-MIA on AA & MIA-DUB on EI. The flights would be on business & we’d be in Irish passports.

I know we’ll have to clear US immigration and recheck the bags, is 5hrs of a layover enough? It’s years since I’ve been through MIA, what’s it like to connect in? Will I have to change terminals?

As a side point, I could connect via PHL instead AA-AA, would that be better?

Thanks

Five hours is plenty of time to connect in MIA. If you were to connect in PHL, how long would your connection be?
