FLL/EYW

I'm flying into FLL Terminal 1 and going to EYW on a different airline at Terminal 4. Is it possible to do this without going through TSA again? I don't have checked baggage, just carry on.

For the flight in to FLL Terminal 1, where does that flight originate?

Does FLL still have the issue where TSA denies passengers from going (and perhaps even going back) airside more than 2 hours before scheduled departure on some cruise-heavy days? It may be something to consider to be an issue if you have a transit time that is more than 2 hours.

You will need to go outside and catch a shuttle bus or walk between terminals. From T1 to T4 is quite a distance. Might be easier to walk through the parking garages, but I am not sure.

I walked from T3 to T1 and it was over 10 minutes at a brisk pace. There are shuttles. But definitely have to go through TSA any time you change terminals in FLL

Yes, you will have to re-clear security. From the airport's website:

When I change flights or recheck my luggage, do I have to go through security again?
If you are changing terminals or arriving on an international flight, you will have to go through security again. At this time, Concourses E and F in Terminal 3 and Concourse G in Terminal 4 are connected post-security. Additionally, Concourses A, B and C in Terminal 1 are connected.

Yes. That's still an issue. From the Cruise Passengers page of the website:

Checking Baggage
The earliest some airlines will check baggage is two to three hours before your scheduled departure. You may experience longer than normal check-in lines, especially with morning departures. Contact your airline for check-in times.

Added: I just realized this answer doesn't address your question. Sorry about that. But, you're correct that during busy periods, FLL does keep people from going through security until 2 hours prior to their flights. As far as I know, that restriction is still in place. If this is a concern, the OP might want to contact the airport and ask. Various methods of contact (including email) can be found here: https://www.broward.org/airport/busi...erService.aspx

The Cypress Garage is connected to Terminal 1. The Palm Garage is connected to Terminal 4. While I believe you can walk from the Cypress to the Palm through the Hibiscus Garage, it's probably easier to walk along the terminal roadway down to Terminal 2. From there, you can cut through the Palm Garage or simply walk a little further past Terminal 3 so that you don't have to dodge cars inside the garage.

I thought Silver was the only airline that flies FLL-EYW, and they leave from T1. At least they did 3 weeks ago when I flew them.

Maybe a charter?
