I lived in New Orleans for many years. I now live in a place where it can be much colder, but where the humidity is generally far lower. 45F can 'feel' much colder in NOLA than 25F in the desert, especially if there's a wind.

Also ditto that Winter temps in south Louisiana can be all over the place. I grew up in Baton Rouge; I think I was in 3rd grade before I began to associate Winter with colder weather. I knew Summer was going to be hot, but Winter was always just random.

39° temperature difference between yesterday and today Yesterday’s high was 85° which was a record high for Dec. 5. Today was cold and it rained all day; high was 46°. Rain and 40s through Friday.

Since I sat on my ... for far too long after making this thread, all of the decent hotels in the city were booked and flights got more expensive. I am going to Las Vegas instead.
I will plan this better next year. .
