Unmarked planes at RSW

Unmarked planes at RSW
Hey all... I flew LGA to RSW on Delta yesterday and when I landed there were three large unmarked planes lined up on the tarmac. There was a white 747 with a blue tail and two large tri-engine wide body jets with no markings at all. Anyone know what those are?

Maybe Sands casino owner Sheldon Adelson? He has a coule of 747's and other aircraft - here's one of his 747's, the have a casino and 6 bedrooms, not like the EK suite but a hotel sized bedroom. These are limited to 50 passengers.

At least two of these air craft (a 747 and a DC10) have been sitting
there since late Spring. I noticed yesterday that there are now
four air craft. It is difficult to tell from a distance, but I think one of them
is an L1011. As you say, no markings to speak of on any of them. I have not found anyone who knows anything about them. RSW is an unusual airport to have mothballed planes in storage.

Western Global Airlines is head quartered in nearby Estero and I have seen one of their 747-400s there in RSW and one of their MD-11s there in the past as well. They have recently added two 747-446 BCFs both ex-Atlas Air. N356KD and N344KD.

The all-white MD11s are probably Western Global freighters. I see them at MEM quite a bit as FDX leases them when they need more capacity.

Those of you who fly through LAX may have noticed one or more wide body aircraft parked on occasion on the ramp on the south side of the airfield adjacent to an general aviation FBO facility. These aircraft have been seen at LAX for many years now.
In many cases, these are privately owned aircraft that are, quite simply, very large business jets. A number of these wide bodies are based in the Mideast and are used for personal transportation by various royal families in that part of the world.
BTW, back in the day, there was a Boeing 707 parked at SBA near an FBO for several years. It was a personal aircraft used by a Saudi royal prince who was attending the University of California Santa Barbara at the time.

I once stayed at a B&B in New Zealand where the owner had been the personal pilot for one of the members of the Saudi royal family. Every five years or so, the prince would decide he wanted to upgrade, and the pilot would have to go off and get type certified on something bigger. Went from 737 to 757 to 747 as I recall.

Our military/gov has some planes that are unmarked for moving our people and RSW is near Fort Meyers. They are not all green C130 like the movies.

RSW is my home airport as well and I saw them briefly last week when I flew out. I believe Jet Group has a maintenance station at RSW (on the side where the old terminal used to be and where PrivateSky still is). I'm fairly certain the 747 is a cargo plane as I don't recall seeing any windows (it was a 6 AM departure though so still dark). I would guess they are in there for a maintenance check of some sort though.

While I have no problem with deporting criminals, sending them back on a longhaul flight in AA coach does seem unnecessarily cruel.
