Hotel with a view reccomendation
Going to spend an overnight in Miami. Will be getting in around 3, and have to drive up to FLL in the late morning, so I am not looking to do much, maybe grab a nice dinner somewhere. What I really want is a hotel with good views, especially of the storms and moon at night (will be a few days off of the full moon). I will have a car, so I can get away from the airport, flip side is I need parking that won't be too expensive. i am trying not to spend a fortunate, but wouldn't mind something nice.
So what would you suggest? I am not sure if I want to stay downtown, or closer to the beach, or closer inland. But would prefer to be closer to Miami that night than Fort Lauderdale.

Not sure what the budget is, but I'd go for the Biltmore. If you can get a high floor facing North or North East you will not be disapointed.

Try the Doubletree or the Marenas resort in Sunny Isles. Tall buildings and should have good views inland as well as to the ocean. Location is about half way between MIA and FLL.
Most of the Downtown MIA and Miami Beach hotels have parking fees of $30.00 and up. Also, you may want to check for hotels that have onsite rental car agencies so you can take Uber or a taxi/shuttle from the airport to save money on all the extra fees. you can rent a car for the day you need and not have to worry about the fees for parking at the hotel plus all the additional taxes from renting at the airport.

Marriott Biscayne Bay is cheap usually, easy to get to. Great view of the port and Miami Beach. Facing out over the water could get some great storm views.
