Driving from MIA to Marathon....

We want to take our time, does anyone have any ideas of places to stop along the way?

Particularly looking for restaurants (breakfast, lunch) and any scenic stops, etc.

I know of Pennekamp, and some of the other larger "tourist" places, so am looking for more local finds or out of the way places.

In Islamorada for a casual lunch the Wahoo Bar and Grill is best described as a 2nd floor treehouse open air kind of restaurant overlooking the sea. Great view and great food.

Have always had a great meal at Ballyhoo's in Key Largo. All you can eat stone crab, as well as other good seafood. Conch chowder was tasty, as I recall.
