What to do in one eveing in Miami?

Mrs Oyster and I are staying one night in Miami next week, en route to the Caribbean from London.

We are staying near the airport and won't get to our hotel until about 7:30pm.

Any suggestions on places to head to for a drink or two and a meal? Given we'll have just come off an international F flight and are will be going on to an all-inclusive resort, I think we'd prefer light bites!

What level of decadence are you thinking?

I really like Lulu and GreenStreet in Coconut Grove; they both have good food, are open late, and have outdoor seating.

No specific recommendations, but with just one evening and staying by the airport I'd stick to Coconut Grove rather than heading out to South Beach, for sure.

We too are one night in Miami, staying in an airport area hotel, with rental car, avoiding South Beach. Would like to go to a pleasant walkable area with restaurants and few bars. Any tips other than Coconut Grove? Perhaps downtown?

Not downtown, unless you just hang out at Bayside.
Unless you are staying on a weekend, I would recommend Lincoln Road Mall in South Beach. You can park on the west end of it. Nice stroll of shops and restaurants without the craziness of SoBe.

Lots of dining options in the Gables, and it's quite a bit more convenient to the airport.
