Mississippi Question: Vicksburg to Jackson

Anyone know if it is still only one lane on I-20E from Vicksburg to Jackson? It was a parking lot last Friday when we came through. Headed back to ATL today and wondering what awaits. The Natchez Parkway sounds like a doable and pretty alternative.

Thanks in advance...

I don't know about the "one lane". Even with one lane IH20 will still be quicker than other alternatives from Vicksburg. Aside from a section still used just East of Vicksburg, old US80 has disappeared, and I wouldn't even try the part which still exists.

Using sing the Natchez Trace as an "alternate" route certainly depends on from where you're coming. The Trace is slow speed and meanders, and even folks trying to drive from Natchez to Jackson would be likely to use US84E to IH55.
