Long MCO Layover

Hey all,

My wife and I are travelling to Bogota on Saturday and we have a 6.5 layover in MCO. I was hoping to get some suggestions on how to pass the time. I'm a RCC member but if there is anything around the airport where I could leave for a bit to entertain myself that'd be great.

Thanks in advance!

You could inquire about a day room at the Hyatt which is located right inside the airport. The pool area is quite nice and I could think of worse ways to spend my day.

FWIW - Security can be iffy, so you definitely need to leave yourself ample time to clear it.

Hi,

How about a cab to Florida Mall?

The Hyatt at MCO is a excellent suggestion!^

MCO is my FAVORITE airport with a ton of shopping, spa services, restaurants a'plenty right inside!

But if you're wanting to leave the confine of the airport, another suggestion could be Downtown Disney, but you wouldn't have all that much time.

I second the suggestion to take a cab to the Florida Mall. There isn't all that much to do in/around the immediate airport area, but the mall isn't far away and has a lot of shopping/dining/entertainment options.

I am not sure what the cab fare is, but if you can get a cheap car rental, it could be less than two cab rides. Also, I don't know if there is a cab rank at the mall, you might have to call for a taxi. And finally, with a rental car, you would have somewhere to keep your luggage.

Cab to FL Mall was about $25ish the last time that I did this. There is a LINX bus(slower) that is a couple of bucks.

I wasn't even aware that LYNX served the airport. The same bus goes all the way to Downtown Disney, although it takes almost an hour. It runs every half hour. Here is the schedule and map in case anyone is interested.
