Good BBQ in MSY
Where is a great BBQ joint near the French Quarter?
I will be there next week and just love any BBQ.
I have heard of VooDoo BBQ but don't know how it may be.
I am sure there are lots of others near there so I need some ideas.
Thanks

Houston or Kansas City.
Sorry to say, but New Orleans is not known for BBQ and "great" BBQ doesn't exist here in the restaurants.
Your thread title mentions "Good BBQ" and this sentence says "any BBQ", so click on this link:

Try The Joint on Poland Ave. or Squeal on Oak St.. The Joint is closer to the FQ.
VooDoo is a chain.
Nope, we don't have lots of BBQ joints.

Eating BBQ in new Orleans would be like looking for a Dairy Queen in Lahore. I'm not sure there is one, but woukl (a) be unlikely to dine there, and (b) if required to do so, sit far from a window and look under my seat for a bomb.

Once upon a time there was a great BBQ joint in New Orleans, Mr. Delicious on Gentilly Blvd. right across the street from the Fairgrounds. But, alas, it's long gone, and as others have noted, New Orleans is not a place to go for BBQ.

The Joint on Poland in Bywater is tops, good as any KC or Memphis place, and they serve Abita. It's outside the Quarter, but the cab drivers all no it.
Bywater BBQ on Dauphine in Bywater is also very good.
For BBQ style, try the cochon du lait at Mahoney's on Magazine; Parkway in Mid-City is also good.
