Lounge access without ST E+ card
I was recently matched to CO PLT (ST Elite Plus), but haven't received my card yet. Will I be able to access lounges when flying AF/AZ? If so, can they see my status electronically or should I make a print out of my OnePass statement?
Thanks in advance ^

I was granted Silver status on the 1st of January 2009, flew to The Caribbean two weeks later and hadn't (obviously) received my new card. I was sure that the boarding card would show Silver but no. Still said Ivory...
I guess the Status doesn't show until March on the boarding card as all new cards should have been received by then...

Hi,
Typically, your status is not updated after the time of booking. The only way to get this done is to call AF/KL to have them re-apply your FF number. This will update your status.

Just ask to print out your FT profile in a official ticketing point of your airline or to send you an email with your status (better if it is the welcoming email).
I used the first solution while I was waiting (and I am still) to get the Gold card in the past....it is a paper with all the codes airlines use to view the profile of a passenger in the check-in points too...
In fact sometimes you find employees you try to identify what we call "Portuguese" passengers or "escrocs": this may happen in France as in Italy.

My first ST flight is in 2 days and still haven't got the card. I printed out the temporary card and the e-mail from CO confirming my status match, will call today to ask for a fax as well.

About the lounges you may access you may also read here:

Lounge Access
International First and Business Class passengers as well as SkyTeam Elite Plus members2 traveling in Economy Class enjoy complimentary access to most SkyTeam partner lounges worldwide. Simply present your same-day ticket for an international SkyTeam airline flight. As a SkyTeam Elite Plus passenger, you can even invite a guest to join you in the lounge.

To be noted that third-party lounges follow the agreements done by each airline (in some cases you can enter, in others not...)

An update. I've had no problem using the ST E+ services in both MAN and CDG. In MAN they looked very carefully at my documentation and then let me into the lounge (the temporary card itself wouldn't have been enough because it doesn't have the validity period. The e-mail I got from OnePass does). In the CDG 2F lounge they let me it very easily.
The AF lounges are not up to par with LH SEN lounges - but I had read about that so it wasn't a surprise.
Will report later on whether I have similar luck with AZ.

I dont know of which lounges you are speaking...maybe MXP.
You know the history of AZ... they are currently refurbishing some of their lounges. LIN lounge for eg is now better... and with better food than AMS unless you like only cucumbers

I am not fond of the FCO lounge, either, the one located just in front of the AF lounge.

The heavy presence of AP in TRN could explain that.
For the rest, being served by often grumpy AZ staff is quiet a deterrent especially in worn-out, bland interiors without much choice of newspapers.
