Luggage rules across Skyteam for Elites

With the recent announcement from Delta that a $25 charge for second bags will be required (except for their own elites or First/Business) the issue of Elite/Elite Plus benefits dilution show its head again.

What are the chances that we might see some of the relaxation of luggage rules and charges apply across the alliance for elites?

I'd put it in the unlikely category.

There is a decent chance that when you are in the elite line for check-in the carrier will ignore the charge, but if it is fully automated then they'd have to manually override it, and I cannot imagine too many agents doing so.

There is no alliance-wide policy on luggage and I don't expect to see one in the near future.

Delta is the only SkyTeam carrier that has started the policy. Odds are that NWA will follow soon enough, but I would imagine that it will only affect their domestic flights; the rules for the TATL stuff have to cooperate with KL's and the TPAC has a lot of competition where such a rule might work against them. I do not expect that CO will follow the others to implement such a charge.
