What program to earn in?

What program to earn in?
A colleague of mine has the following upcoming flights:
YYZ-JFK-BOM-JFK-YYZ - Delta
BOM-KUL-SYD-KUL-BOM - Malaysian
He usually flights to the Indian sub-continent 2-3 times a year as well on either KL/AF/DL/CO.
What program would be the best to earn mileage on.
His priority is not of earning status but the ease of redeeming reward travel and lower redemption values.
Redemption would primarily be: NA to India and NA to NA.

You should be able to earn miles when flying MH, but not EQM with NW.
