How to make changes to a paper SkyTeam award ticket?

I am currently in the middle of a trip using a paper SkyTeam award ticket (which was booked with SkyMiles) . I want to make reschedule the return flight by a few days, but it looks like paper tickets can only be reissued by Delta, not by any of their partners. Is that correct? I am currently at least 500 miles away from the nearest airport served by Delta, but I am close to an airport served by KLM.

Can Delta convert a paper ticket to an eTicket over the phone?

If your flights allow it, then yes you can, but you will need to surrender your old tickets to DL before reticketing. I think I have read somewhere that in situations where there is no DL ticketing location reasonably close then they will allow you to mail your tickets to the nearest ticketing location.

You may want to call KLM's local number and ask them if they'll assist you at the local ticket office.

From what I understand Skyteam partners can assist with ticket reissues when the ticketing airline is not present. They should have a support number they can call for assistance. I'm fairly certain they can only assist with paper tickets.

To answer your question regarding converting paper to ETKT's. No, not over the phone. They'd need the paper ticket from your before they'd issue another ticket.

If the routing is the same KLM will be able to reissue (revalidate) the tkt if you're changing routing (before TLS-AMS-ATL and now TLS-CDG-JFK-ATL) they will not be able to reissue.

Hope it helps

There was a change in routing involved: I was changing from OSL - CDG - IAD to OSL-AMS-IAD a few days later.

However, amazingly enough, Delta has a ticket agent in Oslo despite not flying there. I went there today and the agent had no trouble reissuing my ticket.

The only surprise was that apparently the change fee is now $75 instead of $50 .

I am in the EXACT same boat as the OP, except am in DXB and am trying to reissue a paper award ticket from SU flights with 10-hour cxn in SVO to a 4-hour cxn in AMS on KL (essentially DXB-SVO-PRG becoming DXB-AMS-PRG).

DL doesnt have its own ticket office here, but according to their web site, they use Sharaf Travel in Dubai. They are closed Friday so the earliest I could go would be 24 hours prior to flight departure. Can I trust that they would know what to do with my paper ticket and would they honor the PM-waived change fee? Any help would be sincerely appreciated!
