connectin g in CDG with two different airlines

Hi,
We have a flight from PRG-CDG-EWR with AF on the first segment and CO on the transatlantic.
I know that i have to move from terminal 2B to 2A but i am not sure if i will have enough time to check in again with CO in CDG. 1:40 minutes connection time.
In our outbound flights we had 4 hour layover flying AF from LAX to BUD thrugh CDG and we spent two hours waiting for buses to take us from terminal to terminal(we already had a boarding pass for PRG).
Now, i do not think that AF in PRG will give us a boarding pass for the CO flight. They will document our luggage all the way i guess.
Anybody know if it makes sense to walk from 2B to 2A in CDG and if security is not going to take the 1:40 minutes time. I just do not want to miss our CO flight since is an award ticket.
Can we maybe check in with CO airside??

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

AF will check you luggage and give you boarding passes all the way through to EWR.

You will not need to check-in with CO, except for at the gate, where they will probably want to double check your passport/Visa.

You should have no problem connecting in 1:40. You will not need to go landside.

Walking from 2B to 2A would involve going landside and entering France. Walking actually takes no more than 10mn. The two additional passport checks can unfortunately take some time.

Entering France in 2B can take from 2mn to 30mn, but you can see the queue when arriving in the terminal; in addition, as your luggage is checked through, you can have the choice of either of the two exits into France (Baggage 1 & baggage 2), choice that your fellow passengers coming from PRG will not have unless they have a connecting flight, and this should help you shorten the time needed to enter France.

I have no recent personal experience of outgoing passport checks in 2A. Last year, it did take me 15mn, which seems average, but I was not going to the US in 2A.

The second option is the airside shuttle. Unfortunately, as the shuttles rotate clockwise arounbd CDG2, you will have a stop at 2F and 2C before reaching 2A, so it could take some time.

In any case, you will need to clear security in 2A, whether you have walked or taken the bus. I have no personal experience of the additional checks required for flights to the US.

Your choice depends somewhat on your arrival time in 2B and on the length of the two immigration queues in 2B. If either one of them looks like it will take less than 10mn and your incoming flight is on time, I would personally choose to walk, but others may have a different experience.

Enjoy your flights

Upon disembarking at T2B, I would definitely go landside by choosing the least crowded of exits "Baggage 1" or "Baggage 2". This should not take you more than 10 minutes at most. Do no stop by the baggage carousels, exit the baggage hall but NOT the terminal, turn LEFT and walk all the way past the restaurant to a pair of escalators with a sign "Rental cars, T2 A, C, E". Go down, pass the rental cars counters and go back up on the other side (10 mnts at most). Go towards "A" (the other side is "C"). the CO desks are immediately beyond AA. Passport and security will not take more than 20 mnts and even if..., they do call passsengers on boarding flights into a special line. Normally, you should do the whole thing in less than 40 mnts. CO security may stop you in the jetway, but you will not miss your flight at that point.

Just came back from this trip.
Thanks for the responses!
AF did not give me a boarding pass in PRG for the CDG-EWR segment. I had to get a new one from CO in CDG.
With a little bit of luck we made it work!!
Some other thing. Security for the USA bound flightsis a nightmare. They have staffed the gates with very nice Indian guys and girls but they can not really speak english very well and the comunication is horrible. All the americans flying that day back to the US had the same experience. They could not unnderstand the questions!!
If i can help it, i will avoid CDG for my future travel to Europe. No AC and the odors that you can smell through the airport are just horrible.

I stopped connecting at CDG long time ago. Delays, poor service, poor connection between terminals, not enough stores/restaurants. I love to travel to Paris as a destination but not use CDG for connections. Amsterdam is so much better and KLM is overall better than AF anyway.

Don't fly a US carrier to USA if you think the security is nightmare at the European airport... Why couldn't you check in online with CO? print/fax boarding pass.

They will get you regardless where you check in. The Indian fellows ask for passports at the final gate and after asking a bunch of stupid questions they give you a sticker in the back of your passport. Then the airline staff checks that you have that sticker before letting you in the plane.
They do that for EVERYONE, they track down the passengers that are coming from other French airports to CDG just to change planes in their way to the US. There is no way out!!!
