Thinking about ditching SkyTeam altogether
I'm posting this rant on here because it relates to several SkyTeam airlines--not just one.
Maybe I'm just the odd man out, but it seems like every time I book a flight on a SkyTeam partner and provide my DL FF# in the reservation--without fail--at least one of the segments in my itinerary goes uncredited to my DL account. I used to think that CO was the only offender, but now I'm seeing that a few segments on the last several NW itineraries I've had within the last 60 days have yet to post.
This has happened to me literally every time I've booked a flight on a SkyTeam airline except DL for the past year and a half. Sometimes on a four segment trip, 3 of the 4 segments will post. Other times, only 1 of the 4 will post. Bottom line: I have yet to take a trip on CO or NW where every single segment posts correctly to my DL account automatically--even though my DL FF# is clearly on every BP.
The biggest "offense" was about this time last year when I made a trip from OGG-LAX-EWR-BWI, all on CO metal. All of the legs posted to my DL account except for the OGG-LAX leg. By the time I'd realized that had occurred, I was barely inside the window for requesting credit, so I got on the horn right away.
When I called DL, the rep told me that I had to send a copy of the BP to CO to get credit because they couldn't pull up anything in the DL system related to CO itineraries to credit my DL FF account. Fine. So, I called CO to ask for their fax number or mailing address and the rep told me that I had to send the BP in to Delta because that was the FF account that I was requesting credit for. The rep even brought her supervisor on the line who told me that even though the flight was on CO metal, I had to send the BP in to DL to get credit on that FF account. I called DL back and was told that the CO reps had mis-informed me and that I definitely needed to send the BP in to CO because CO had to put in the request for credit to my DL FF account.
By this time, I had had about all that I could take of this run-around. I hung up the phone, took a few deep breaths and decided that any more of this wasn't worth my time and trouble, so I simply kissed the ~2,400 FF miles goodbye. I came to regret that decision later because when it came to the end of 2006, I was within a hair of getting status on SkyTeam and that OGG-LAX flight would have done it for me.
Two questions for the group:
1.) Is this a frequent occurrence for others who fly SkyTeam partners regularly? Meaning, do you frequently have problems with miles from other SkyTeam airlines not posting into your designated FF account? If I flew SkyTeam nearly as much as I fly in the Star Alliance, I'd probably have spent almost enough in postage from mailing copies of BP's in for credit that I could've just bought a roundtrip ticket somewhere. I'm sure others have had similar problems with Star Alliance, but their mileage posting across carriers has been consistently right on for me, at least.
2.) In the case of my OGG-LAX flight on CO, who should I have sent my BP to for credit to my DL FF account--DL or CO? Looks like I'll need to be sending some BP's in to either DL or NW for credit to my DL account after my most recent foray into the SkyTeam alliance.
Thanks in advance for your help!

1. It's not a frequent occurrence and
2. If you're looking for DL miles, send the information to Delta.

As the other posters have said, it seems to be a problem with DL, as that is where your account lies. I have had problems with NW posting, but they have been bonus / class of service post problems. None of my flights have not shown up. Just fax the stuff to them, and stay on the phone - often - to check on status. It can be a real struggle if you don't have access to the SMS line.

Don't give up
1) My last 10 flights on NW and my last 10 flights on CO have been posted after 2 days into my Flying Blue (AF/KL) account.
2) You should send your BP to DL FFP as that is where your FFP account lies.
I always send my BP's to Flying Blue, any companies I've a problem with.

I'm sure I'll probably get the, "sometimes that happens" response; but it never hurts to ask. After all, not having a single itinerary on NW or CO post all segments successfully for a year and a half while all of my DL segments post correctly every time is just asinine, in my opinion. I could see if it was a few here and there that I had problems with, but 25+ segments on partner airlines in the last 18 months and only about 12 of those post? That track record is just abysmal.

38/40 Skyteam segements posted automatically to my FB account. 2 NW segments did not and I was actually rewarded for obtaining the retro-credit (got C-class miles for the EUAs segments
).
