Go for DL Elite or KL Plat?

Hi all!

I have a dilemma. I have decided to diversify my miles portfolio and have achieved status on LH Miles & More program. I think this makes the most sense for Israel which is considered Europe as far as LH is concerned (and as a result, redemption - eg TLV to Eur is 15,000 miles vs 40,000 miles on KL).

Now, I have to decide between staying gold on Flying Blue and trying to get status on DL or if I should go for Platinum on FB before I even start working on my DL account.

I see it like this:
Is there anything else I should consider?

How much domestic US flying do you do? It seems like you'll be trading a good shot at upgrades TATL on AF/KL for the upgrades on domestic US DL.

Status with DL isn't going going to get you TATL upgrades or lounge access.

How far into LT Plat are you? If you only have 2-3 years to go I would recommend staying with FB. Gold gives you all the essentials, lounge access etc. I don't know how the UG% for DL works out, but I personally have 100% this year on NW. You might also want to consider the financial situation of DL vs AF/KL (profitable). If you use NW intra-US, the domestic NW lounge access with FB Gold/Plat is worth a lot IMO.

Thanks for your response... I agree with you - I had forgotten that I get into WorldClubs with FB Plat whereas this is the last free year with Delta. While I only have 1 year of Plat with FB, I think (for as long as I have my current job) I will focus on AF/KL first and then get whatever I can get from Delta.
