IL-96 is a great plane. Legroom in coach is much more than you would expect on a Boeing/Airbus. Cabin has a very airy feel because of the lack of overhead bins over the middle section of seats.
Overhead bins are smaller than most Western counterparts, and if you sit in a window seat be sure to have a jacket handy, as the insulation on Soviet planes isn't as effective as on western counterparts.
Not sure where your seat falls into. The only difference in seats is really in the old First class section, where they now put business passengers.

I've only known the back of the plane myself but I like the 96. Very roomy and legroom is ok for me (I'm 6-7 or 201 cm) if I am in a bulk head or exit row. Do take a jacket though if sitting against the window. That's very good advice. All in all...pretty enjoyable. If you've never flown on a Soviet made plane, it'll be different than anything you've seen on Boeing/Airbus but you'll quickly get used to it. Enjoy your trip!

I'd recommend against any bulkhead seat on that plane because it seems in Russia the concept of tables in the armrests of coach bulkhead seats is exotic and as such completely absent. I'd definitely dispense with the legroom and have a controllable table, as opposed to baby-style tables that they stick on your seat come meal-time.
Also, if you seat in one of the regular coach seats there's always the chance you can collapse the seat-back on the one in front of you and thus get an even comfier ride.
