priority award travel

With skyteam - If your desired class of service is not available when booking travel, you have priority status on the reservation waitlist (provided waitlists are accepted on the flight and/or in your desired class).

Does this also work with award travel? (it does not on star alliance. Don't know about one world)
I am gold with delta therefore elite with air france. Would I have priority award waitlist?
I can use air france miles continental etc. Would this make a difference? I would use delta miles but can't fly air france first class with delta awards. Can't figure out how that is possible in skyteam.

Did a search, no info
Thanks

There is no waitlist for award travel (for Flying Blue, Alitalia...). Suppose the same is for delta, should be stated in terms and conditions somewhere.

The best thing is to go back and check availability of W/O/A class every once in a while. AF sometimes makes more seats available.

I believe delta does, but the wait list is usually turned off in their computer. I have been on a priority wait list a few times that did not clear, but was available when checked online. Delta said this happens during high volume travel times.

As a Medallion member, you are eligible for greater Award seat availability when booking Award Travel. This Medallion availability is also extended to any traveling companions on your itinerary. Medallion members must be traveling to receive greater Award seat availability.

Would a flying blue elite or a skyteam elite have a better allotment for an award ticket than a non elite?

FB Elites get better availability of AF and KL only, if the member is traveling. This does not extent to DL and other partners and I am pretty certain that the reverse is true as well, ST Elite (Plus) will not get enhanced availability on AF/KL, only the own Elites.

That is fair, but I don't see much value in any airline alliance.
Thanks for the info

there has to be a slight advantage on the own metal, I think that is fair. KL/AF award availability is varying a lot, checking back once in a while is always a good idea, especially for C-class.
