Question Applying Miles across all Skyteam

I am Gold Elite with NW's Worldperks......fly them 80% of time, CO 20%. However in February I will be flying VS from EWR-LHR. I have an CO Onepass number which I provided to Virgin when the ticket was purchased. (VS is an airline partner of CO, but not a Skyteam member).

So my question is : Will I be able to earn Onepass miles on my VS flight, and if so, can I then redeem those miles for award travel on a Skyteam airline? (The VS ticket is Upper Class if that matters).

Thanks!

Yes. You will earn CO-miles that you can use on any award CO provides. And since CO is a skyteam-member, that includes Skyteam-awards as well...

Technically you only earn EQMs if you are on a CO flight number, though many people report getting credit if they are on the VS ticket that is also a codeshare. The full details on earning for CO when flying VS are here.

I checked and I don't think it's code-shared with CO......it's just coming up as VS018 to LHR, and VS045 back to US.

These flights are codeshares (CO 8228 on the outbound, I believe). Only CO will show the codeshare info; VS won't show it.

Technically you should only get EQM if you fly on CO ticket instead of VS ticket. I flew a JL/AF codeshare on JL ticket and only received award mileage, but no EQM. The next time I flew a JL/AF on an AF ticket and was able to get EQM towards status. However there are glitches in the systems, and you might get EQM on a VS ticket anyhow.
