RTW Itinerary Questions

Experts,

Here is my tentative itinerary.

KE 654 H 23DEC 5 BKKICN HK1 1 0120 0830 *1A/E*
KE 001 H 23DEC 5 ICNLAX HK1 1120 0730 *1A/E*
DL8553 Q 30DEC 5 LAXCDG HK1 2 1520 1105+1 *1A/E*
OPERATED BY AIR FRANCE (AF065)
AF1648 V 31DEC 6 CDGBCN HK1 1225 2F 1255 1440 *1A/E*
AF1649 V 07JAN 6 BCNCDG HK1 1515 A 1545 1740 *1A/E*
AF 166 V 08JAN 7 CDGBKK HK1 2215 2C 2315 1625+1 *1A/E*

I have 2 Questions:

1. Is it allowed to choose the code-share flight (DL8553) instead of AF065 on the RTW ticket? I wanted this because I plan to request mileage upgrade on DL flight using my Skymiles miles (which leads to the next question.
2. Is DL Q fare eligible for milegae upgrade?

So no code share for RTW?
How about Continental Airlines 9623 SEA-TPE?
If no code share, what choice do I have for SEA-TPE?

Thanks

Who are you buying the RTW fare from? I think that affects which partners you can use in building the itinerary. So if you bought it from CO you might be able to include the BR segment but not if you bought it from AF (hypothetical - I don't know for certain).

As for other options, the SkyTeam timetable only shows routings on BR using DL and CO codeshare numbers, or via KE on ICN, so I think you're pretty limited. You could always do that as a different segment though it is not apparent to me where in the itin that you listed you intend to go to TPE.
