The global alliance fares are some of the worst deals for around the world travel. Take a look at this site http://www.airtimetable.com/Around_World_Airfares.htm for a good comparison of RTW fares. A few years ago Global Alliance fares were great but the prices have risen to levels that no longer offer much value. The Global Alliance fares do offer the most FF miles but certainly not the most value!

I disagree to some extent. I still find the global alliance RTW fares (OW) great value for money for the flexibility in routing and miles - especially so if bought ex a cheap country.
