Is KAL the only way to New Zealand?

I have enough miles to fly 1st class to New Zealand. Is KAL the only airline that goes? I'm planning on going in November of 06 if that matters any. Is the extra 50k miles worth is over business class?

Thanks for the help.

(I know I asked a similiar quesiton before, but the search feature is down, and I can't find it)

AF has some codeshares with SQ into Australia...Not sure whether these include New Zealand or are eligible for award travel (they should be at least with AF miles)....but probably worth checking out.

And some ST carriers (DL included?) can issue awards on MH (Malaysia) which I gather is much better than KE (haven't flown them, KE that is)

MissBumpMe! and I were frightened of KE before flying LAX-ICN-SYD-ICN-BKK as part of a RTW trip.
We were pleasantly surprised by KE.
The seats are older than other carriers, but by no means unacceptable.

Rumor has it that KE will be upgrading their first and business (and perhaps coach) seats in 2005. However, it's tough to find any confirmed info on the subject.

Korean First vs. Business?

Any input on first vs. business? Is it worth the extra 50,000 miles to get a first award? How about on different aircraft (747, 777, A330)?

If it matters any my miles are with DL.

So is the 50k miles more worth it, or is buisness good enough?

DL also partners SQ so that is an option (via SIN) - albeit still a long detour.

Good luck trying to find award seats on SQ. It is almost impossible. However, it is still an option, albeit a long shot for award travel.

How far in advance can you book? I'm looking at Nov 06?

It's been a while and I'd like to bump this.

Could anyone answer (or heard any rummors)

Is the extra 50k miles worth it, for First vs Business?

How far in advance do you need to book? I'm looking at flying to AKL in Nov in 06.

Thanks for any help.
