I would go west to east because you lose a day crossing the international date line going east to west. Also the flights would be faster going west to east with the jet stream.

I would go east to west as I have no problem with going to bed later when changing timme zones - and a lot of problems trying to get some sleep earlier than usual.

Not by choice I'm sure. Unfortunately I don't think any Skyteam or CO/DL partner services PPT to SYD. For that you would have to go *A.
